We flew in and out of Cancun, but stayed there less than 24 hours and spent over a week exploring the interior of the Yucatan penisula. Concentrating on the the Mayan ruins, we used the city of Merida as a base for the most part but took our time coming and going and spent a couple of days on the beach to wrap things up... |

Although we didn't plan it this way, our itinerary took us from the most extensively restored sight, Chichen Itza, to the equally extensive but less restored Uxmal, and finally to the still extensive but least restored site, Coba.
