| 2003 has certainly had its ups and downs. For the second time in two
years, I found myself looking for a job (can you say "jobless recovery"?). But
life goes on so we keep on keeping on as much as possible. In June the kids and I drove up to see Methel and Walt, stopping off in Washington DC to do some sightseeing. We had a nice visit and the kids got to roam around New York City a bit (Carly and Jordan are taking in the view from the Empire State Building). On the way back we stopped off to visit Mark and Janice in Virginia. |

In July I took advantage of the time off to do some solo camping and climbing in the Grand Tetons. In August we said goodbye to our childhood home in Searcy but at least it gave a reason for four of the siblings (Methel, Mark, Barbara and me) to get together there while we prepared the house for sale. I returned to Searcy in October for a class reunion where I had a great time and reconnected with some old friends. (Merry Christmas classmates!) Then in October baseball fever took over South Florida as the Marlins scrapped their way into the playoffs and on into the World Series (and we were there! The picture is Hannah and me at Game Four of the World Series). | ||
| The kids continue to grow up despite our best efforts to keep them kids.
Carly is 18 and graduated from High School in May and will be transferring to Florida
State University in Tallahassee in the spring. Jordan is 15 and a Sophomore in High
School. Hannah will be 14 this month and is in the 8th grade. If we havent heard from you lately shame on both of us! Give us a call, drop a note or send an email! Happy Holidays! The Bales Family |
