Mary Ethel and Walter (Gale) drove to the west coast following the anniversary and travelled as far as Alaska, partly by boat. In October Mary Ethel returned to Searcy for Harding's Homecoming and her 25th class reunion.

David, Phyllis, and Laura were able to combine visits with relatives in the Little Rock area when they were in Searcy. In August David was sent to Saudi Arabia in his role of Army doctor, while Phyllis stayed on at their home in San Francisco where she is working towards a doctorate in Psychology.

Barbara Ann and Hugh (Gibson) live now in Searcy. They had a trip to California in June and visited David and Phyllis. Miriah returned to Searcy from Tulsa where she had been staying with the Kirks, and is enrolled in Harding.

Mark took Greg home with him from Searcy in July to spend a month in Waynesboro, Virginia, before the fall opening of school.

Jonathan and Marlene took a trip to California also in June, taking baby Hannah with them, leaving Carly and Jordan in Searcy with 'Mimi and Papa' This was partly business and partly pleasure; Jonathan travels frequently for Whirlpool to such places as Mexico and Puerto Rico, as well as several different states.

Robin and Mark (Kirk) also were at Harding's Homecoming for their lOth class reunion. Ashley and Alan love the cats in Searcy, especially at Aunt B's' (Barbara Ann). Robin took everyone by surprise on November 9 by having a baby girl a month early, named Allison.

LOOKING BACK ON 1991

Mary Ethel and Walt (Gale) visited David and Phyllis in San Francisco shortly before David was transferred. Mary Ethel travelled to Searcy in March to help Mary observe her 70th birthday.

David is now stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Monroe, Virginia, while Phyllis continues to work on a doctorate in Psychology in California; she lacks less than a year. David returned from Saudi Arabia in April and was awarded the Bronze Star medal. He shipped his 3 African cats to Barbara Ann to keep until he has a permanent residence in Virginia.

Barbara Ann (Gibson) has been working in the Floral department of Food 4 Less since March, and for the first time in many years Hugh works in Searcy and doesn't have to travel out of town in connection with his job. Miriah trained as a dental technician for several months, then attended school in southern Illinois for the Fall semester.

Mark also was in Searcy for Mary's birthday-this was a surprise. He visited again in April, and on the way back to Virginia he dropped Mary off in Huntington, W. Virginia where Robin met her. Greg spent part of the Summer in Virginia with his Dad.

Jonathan is still with Whirlpool in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Marlene is into crafts - wreath-making as well as jams from the wide variety of fruit growing in their area. Carly (6) started the first grade in the Fall, while Jordan (3) and Hannah (2) keep things hopping at home.

Robin and Mark (Kirk) moved to Columbus, Ohio from Tulsa early in the year. Mary visited them in April and again in July at which time Robin drove to Searcy just in time for a brief visit with David and Phyllis who stopped on their way to Virginia. Ashley (5) started Kindergarten in the Fall, leaving Alan (3) and Allie (1) still at home.

J. D. and Mary took a trip through parts of Illinois and Indiana in August to try to trace his family's history. They had a trip earlier to Atlanta, with Barbara Ann, to visit his sister, Mary Brannon.
