Mary Ethel and Walt (Gale) and Petrushka (their Siamese cat!) joined them there for a trip to the maritime provinces of Canada, returning through Quebec and Ontario. Mark and Greg took a bus trip to Gig Harbor, Washington - they were away a month.

August - Mary had surgery on the 20th, then was rewarded with a visit from all of the children (except David) through Labor Day - most effective medicine of all! David phoned from Saudi Arabia, Cairo, and Nairobi. He and Phyllis are now in London where he is aftending the School of Tropical Medicine.

October - Barbara Ann had a serious bout of the flu and respiratory infection, and Mary went to be with her for 2 1/2 weeks. Hugh had changed jobs and was out of town for a training session.

November - Mary rode the bus to Tulsa to visit Robin and Mark (Kirk). Later the Kirk's stopped for a night in Searcy on their way to W. Virginia for the Thanksgiving holiday with Mark's parents.

O how abundant is thy goodness, which thou
has laid up for those who fear thee, and
wrought for those who take refuge in
thee, in the sight of the sons of
men! (Ps. 31:19)
