Mary Ethel and Walt (Gale) continue to teach school on Long Island, New York. Mary Ethel enjoyed a trip to Mexico in the Summer, then played hostess to members of the family in August and again in October.

David and Phyllis and children are in Saudi Arabia where David is physician to the American Armed Forces advisory group there. They are having some rare and interesting experiences.

Barbara Ann, Hugh and Miriah (Gibson) are in Watseka, Illinois, where Hugh works for a community newspaper, and Barbara Ann keeps busy studying cake decorating, helping with Cub Scouts, and taking part in a variety of civic activities.

Mark and Becky are here in Searcy. Mark works for a local firm, tinkers with cars (his and others), and Becky is raising two small calves to put in their freezer later -- if they don't become too much attached to them!

Jonathan is in his second year at the University of Arkansas, majoring in Music, and enjoying it, although he must work long hours on piano and flute, theory, music history, composition, etc.

Robin is a Senior at Harding Academy, taking part in everything she can possibly cram into this final year -- cheerleading, chorus, club president. She was delegate to Girl's State in June.

J.D. has resumed teaching at Harding, half-time. This allows him to continue his writing. He had speaking engagements in Dayton Beach, Fla., Valdosta, Ga., and Huntsville, Ala.

Mary tries to keep up with everyone! The highlight of the year for her was a trip she made with Grandma and Grandpa Smart to New York to visit Mary Ethel, then to Vermont to see the Fall foliage in October, stopping to see the Gibson's on the way home.

OUR WISH FOR YOU THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

LOOKING BACK ON 1975

Mary Ethel and Walt (Gale) spent almost 3 weeks in Europe in the Summer, combining sightseeing with study for credit, before returning to Bay Shore, New York to teach.

David and Phyllis and children are into their second year in Saudi Arabia, where David is an Army physician. They are trying to take advantage of seeing as much as possible of the neighboring countries.

Barbara Ann, Hugh and Miriah (Gibson) live in Illinois in a new (to them) middle-aged house that came complete with some antique furniture, dear to Barbara's heart.

Mark and Becky welcomed the arrival of Shelly Dawn on May 27, then took her to visit Mary Ethel before she was 5 weeks' old. Mark is taking one course at Harding College.

Jonathan is in his third year at the University of Arkansas, continuing with his Music. He lives off-campus, and cooks for himself, becoming a real gourmet!

Robin graduated from Harding Academy in May and is a freshman at Harding. She lives in the dormitory, and has so many interests it has been a real exercise in discipline to leave time for classes.

J.D. is teaching half a class load at Harding, which leaves him time to write and occasionally lecture away from home. Most recent off the press: The Cross and the Church. Now being printed:  Restoration, Reformation, or Revelation? etc., etc.

Mary is mostly trying to adjust to having all of her birds flown from the nest. There are no more hours in the day, just different ways to fill them.

May the peace of God, that passes understanding, abide in your hearts, now, and throughout the New Year.
