In The ParadeEven without the balloons, there were still plenty of floats, a couple of marching bands (Penn State and Auburn were in Orlando for a bowl game - Auburns band had to be over 300 people) and lots of people lining the streets of Universal Studios. |

So, while it would have been furn to part of the balloon handling team, at least I got
to walk in the parade in our Macy's jumpsuits and hand out candy to all the little kids. And the kids enjoyed the parade from their perch on top of the gator (even if they didn't get to throw out candy - no objects can be thrown...). |
| Considering that the weather DID turn bad as it got later... and our New Year's Eve celebration got more or less rained out this turned out to be the highlight of the day... | ![]() |
| It started seriously raining around 6:30 and didn't let up. We stuck it
out till around 10:30, then gave it up and headed back to the hotel where we watched Dick
Clark ring in the New Year from the comfort of our hotel room. I'm not even sure if they
had fireworks at the park the weather was so bad (and we were close enough where we should
have been able to see them out the window if they did). Where else can you get a vacation package for a family of 4 starting at $299?
