Over the past years I have had the pleasure of spending a lot of time across Mexico from the border towns of Juarez and Laredo to the beaches of the Yucatan. Like the U.S., Mexico is a land of variety and contrast. Vast stretches of the northern deserts are reminiscent of the American southwest, but the western sierras have a character all their own. And the beaches... while you can go to the resort areas like Cancun and Ixtapa, it doesn't take much effort to discover places that are unspoiled and under-developed. Click on the map or the links below, or start at the Pyramids of Teotichuacan and page through... (Since I put this section together, I have added another complete section on the Mayan Ruins of the Yucatan based on travel there in 2002. That section by itself it is about as extensive as this section so don't miss it.) |
A few useful links... The Virtual Tourist - Mexico - General information and a lot of good links... ( and the usual Virtual Tourist stuff - weather, chat, etc.) Mexico Travel Guide - comprehensive destination guide with original content. Mexico Connect - another good online resource with content updated every month. Mexico Online - more than just travel - real estate, business, history... Lonely Planet Mexico - 'nuff said... World Travel Guide - Mexico - plenty of general and travel info... Canyon Travel - one of the best sites I've found for photos and information about traveling Copper Canyon. G.O.R.P. Maya World - G.O.R.P. (Great Outdoor Recreation Pages) is a good all round travel resource but this site is particularly good for information on the Mayan ruins of the Yucatan and Central America. Tour by Mexico - general tourist
information. |
