Even though Sailor Moon was first introduced as a manga in a japanese magazine, it was also turnedinto an anime. It basically had the story line same as the manga, but, the attacks were changed along with some other things. Also, the story was made longer instead of having everything happen at once.(ex: manga 7; Michiru & haruka first appear. Episode 7; they don't even have half the inner senshi.) Dividing the 200 episodes into 5 seasons, Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon SS, & Sailor Moon Stars. Making it so that more characters were introduced every season.  In 1995, Dic Entertainment dubbed 65 episodes to air, then proceded to cancel the show. In 1997, USA got the rights to show one year of Sailor Moon. It was later found out that they were possibly going to show 17 new episodes finishing off Sailor Moon R. But it was cancelled because of legal matters before they could air them.
