Day One - Basic

On the first day, you spend time learning the fundamental  techniques of climbing and rope handling. Starting out on some lower rocks just to get some practice with the basics, you move on to steeper and taller inclines getting introduced to more and more techniques. You will also spend time practicing the main knots you need to climb safely.

Before the day is over you get in some rapelling. This was something I had done in the past and expected it would scare me here but it was a blast!!

What a beautiful place. To get to the Hidden Falls area where the training takes place you can either walk (a few miles) around the edge of the lake, or take the shuttle boat across Jenny Lake which cuts the walking to under a mile. By the end of the day, you'll be glad that boat is there!!
