Eastern Face

I don't believe we were out of the ropes from this point on... One pitch after the other. After being together all week, it seemed to me that we moved pretty efficiently from one ledge to the next... And between having the hands warmed up on the sunny rock and having pretty decent hand holds most of the way I can just say - THIS WAS AWESOME!

You only barely see the rope at this resolution... Suffice it to say that you go over that crack right in the middle...

This is one of my favorite shots...  This is looking south over the lower Tetons... Oscar making his way up to the ledge where we are standing...

The Friction Pitch...

When I got to the ledge at the top of this pitch, George shouted down at me "Hey you came across that pretty well"... I said "I know that part has gotta have a name"... And it does... He let me know that this was the 'famous Friction Pitch'... So if anybody asks... I can say I've done it!...
