He married twice. He married Milly Beals 02/17/1825. He married Permelia (Millie) Hudson 07/29/1836. Permelia was born 1813. Corroboration that 'A.H' of 1850 census is in fact 'Abijah' - independent research of Rochelle Riordan in "Descendants of Ichabod PALMERTON"

Abijah H. Bales and Permelia (Millie) Hudson had the following children:

+ 23 iii. David Bales was born 03/07/1837.

43 iv. Matilda Bales was born, 1838.

44 v. Benjamin Bales was born, 1841.

45 vi. Ahijah (Sp?) Bales was born, 1845.

46 vii. Amos Bales was born, 1850.
