Our House

These are some old photos of the house where we all grew up...

These pictures are dated from June of 1955. This was a major remodel on the house, tearing down and rebuilding the back part of the house.  Looks like we lost the big tree in the side yard at the same time. (I remember the STUMP of that tree anyway!) That must be Mark sitting on the tree in the first picture.

A year later (these photos were dated May 1956) the back of the house looks a lot better. This is how I remember it... the Play-yard. That's me standing next to the sandbox and the white picket fence is the scene of one of the stories that has been enshrined in the family mythology. This is where I was pinned against the fence between the horns of one of the goats that my Dad brought home in the back seat of his Buick from a preaching trip to Texas. I wasn't much older than the picture below when this happened so maybe some day one of my older siblings will provide a full narrative to be included here...
