A few photos from around Brazil...

Brazil is the biggest country in South America in both land size and population (over half the land area of the continent and over 160 million people).  The photos here are from Foz de Iguacu (on this page) and on the next page, a few photos from Carnaval

Foz de IguacuThe Falls (7KB)

Driving from southern Brazil to Paraguay?  Among the most spectacular sights in South America are the Iguazu Falls and they'll be right on your way...  The Iguazu River forms the boundary between Brazil and Argentina and the falls are at the common point between those two countries and Paraguay.
The horseshoe shaped series of cascades are almost 2.5 miles wide...  four times the width of Niagara Falls. The falls vary anywhere between 200 and 270 feet (60 and 80 meters) in height. The name of the falls (and the river), come from Paraguayan Indian word meaning "great water."

For an upclose perspective of the falls, you can take an outboard powered whitewater raft to the base of  the falls (where these photos were taken).
