The San Telmo Street MarketThis is one of my favorite things. I have been in street markets in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina and I love mingling with the people and seeing what things people have made (or consider worth selling). This is one of the best... Every Sunday (as I recall) there is a Street Market in the San Telmo District of Buenos Aires. Within walking distance of most of the major hotels this makes a wonderful outing, especially if it is a nice day . Loads of antiques, a variety of artists, plenty of street musicians (all types), other street artists, decent restaurants in the area... this is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
A couple of old guys, apparently better known in an earlier time who can still tango a bit. Photographed on the street in the San Telmo neighborhood. (This is another one of my favorite pictures.) |

<<< A trio of guitarists playing in the street... They were selling CD's (one of which I bought) of their arrangements of classical works. |
| Somebody else I bought something from... This guy had very interesting artwork done in
mixed media combining photographs, airbrushing, and glued on elements. >>>

Another colorful booth from the marketplace... Silverware, decorated and antique china.. Unique tableware of all descriptions...
