Buenos Aires |
|
| Of all the cities in South America, Buenos Aires feels the most European. It is
quite pedestrian friendly, as you might gather from the lunchtime crowd catching a little
sun around the base of this statue. Most places of interest in the central part of
the city are within walking distance of each other and many are concentrated on the
walk-in trade. On any visit to Buenos Aires, no trip is complete without a stroll
down the famous Avenida Florida which is a mile-long pedestrian street loaded with shops
and restaurants. And of course there is dining at the sidewalk cafes of the
Recolleta (sp?) where you can sample the beef that Argentina is known for. |

One of my favorite photo from Argentina. At dusk, an older couple sits at the foot of a graffiti marked statue and reads the newspaper. |
