Mask

These photos are from a trip last year to the Aztec pyramids near Mexico City.  I thought they came out pretty good so I thought to include them here.  The mask above is an allegedly authentic design.  I bought it from a sidewalk vendor... it has three layers:  a youthful face on the inside, an old face in the middle, and a skull on the outside - youth, old age, & death.  Cool, huh...

Pyramid of the SunTeotichuacan

About 30 miles north and east of Mexico City is Teotichuacan, the first urban center on the American continent. At its peak, the city housed more than 200,000 people and extended outward for several miles. The city was mysteriously abandoned in about 700 A.D. and little is known of the cause, except that a massive fire seems to have swept through the city around this time.
