Chihuahua Chihuahua is the largest state in Mexico, in the north of the country, bordering on Texas, and Chihuahua city is its capitol.  It is primarily an industrial center with many major U.S. companies in presence.  The terrain is stark, desert punctuated by mountains, similar to stretches of the American southwest.

I don't have a lot of pictures yet, but there are a lot of things in the area that I want to do so I expect to have more fodder for these pages over time.  Within the state are the highest waterfalls in North America, the ruins at Paquime, and of course, Copper Canyon.

Within Chihuahua, there are some points of interest, the Cathedral (pictured below) is a local landmark and an impressive piece of architecture.  The home of Pancho Villa is also here and is a museum. But, by most accounts, Chihuahua as a tourist destination mainly serves as the start point for travel into the outlying country.  Here you may board the famous Chihuahua al Pacifico train which travels a spectacular route through Copper Canyon to the west coast port of Los Mochis.

Watch this space for more stuff as I have the opportunity to explore northern Mexico...
