Welcome to Inca Trail: The Trek to Machu Picchu. The account here comes from a March 2002 visit to Peru and Machu Picchu. The narrative is a personal account although I have used outside sources to validate information where my own recollection (and journal) were unclear. The arrangement here is in sequence: from Lima to Cuzco, through the Sacred Valley and on to the four days on the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. |

| This is both travelogue and personal journal. There are interactive maps, LOTs of
pictures, and a bit of useful information for anyone considering this kind of a
trek. There are even some Extras including Desktop Wallpaper images and instructions on how to make
a Pisco Sour! Be sure and check out the selection of Books, Maps and More that we've added. Enjoy and let me know what you think. As you can see, I ended up with so much material that this turned into a much bigger project than I first intended. I just hope that there are not so many pages that you are not discouraged from going through it. On the other hand, once I'm done with this it doesn't really require much ongoing maintenance to speak of so what's the harm - from time to time hopefully someone will get something out of it. AND, my fellow trekkers will have something to point to when they want to say 'I did that!'... |
