 Miraflores is an
upscale suburb bordered by the ocean and with plenty of restaurants and shops. This is the
area I stayed while in Lima and had no problem finding my way around. |

This place, the Lover's Park, is in a lovely setting overlooking the ocean and has
plenty of places to sit, all covered in mosaics touting the wonders of love. It's a great
photo op but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your tolerance for this
never ending parade of personal web pages!) most of a couple of rolls of film I took in
Lima and Cuzco were spoiled, don't know why... |

A couple of shots overlooking the ocean. We walked down to the ocean on the return trip
and the 'beach' is composed of pebbles of various sizes (i.e. no sand). Don't know
if I would want to swim there at any rate. |

These shots are from the central Parque 7 de Junio. The two kids above were taking a
break in the shade from playing music for change. |
 |
| There are the requisite churches and shops and there is a pedestrian plaza
adjoining the park that is nothing but a line of restaurants and cafe's. Taking a taxi
from there I asked the driver what this was called and he told me 'Pizza Street'... don't
know if he was making that up or not! Anyway, we got some pretty good food there and I
suspect the place is lively at night. |
