When you walk down the path away from the Trekker's Hotel, less than 10
minutes away you will turn a corner in the path and suddenly be confronted with this
view.... Terraces down the mountainside, stone ruins up high and down low, a string of
ceremonial baths connecting them and a beautiful waterfall as a backdrop behind the ruins.
This might be my favorite place along the whole trail... I mean Machu Picchu is not to be
missed, but something about this place seemed almost magical... The ruins, the views, the
waterfalls - it really is a spectacular combination.
So, considering how much space I've devoted to the other parts of the
trek, there was no way I could fit this part into one page. There are three pages here:
the first page is the broader view with some shots that include the Ruins & The
Mountains; the second page is devoted to the Waterfalls; and, the last page has some shots
from and of the two temples.
