Heroes' Square at Night (9KB)

Heroes' Square

At the end of Andrassy Street, and visible for some distance down the street, the Millenary Monument in Heroes' Square is one of Budapest's most visible landmarks.  A short ride on the underground or a 20 minute walk from the river, the Square is flanked on one side by the National Museum of Fine Arts and on the other by the Art Gallery, the exhibition hall of contemporary arts.  If you choose to walk, you will also pass by the restored Opera House and plenty of other examples of the fine architecture that marks the area.

And While We're Walking...

The Courtyard of the Vajdayunyad Castle... In the park behind the Heroes' Square, on our last night in Budapest we attended an outdoor concert here featuring a strings only ensemble playing Vivaldi's Four Seasons and some Hungarian music... A nice way to end our visit to Budapest...  Vajdahunyad Castle (12KB)
The Train Station (14KB) << The Train Station near the downtown... The building, designed by the Eiffel of Paris' Eiffel Tower fame, shows the signature iron work detail in its front facade and interior.
