Saturday, July 12: After showing us around the College grounds, Lucien guided us out of town, and we took leave of Bartlesville. We arrived at Otis and June Hanes’ in time for supper and a good old midwestern dust storm. Spent the night.

Sunday, July 13: Frances and Barbara Ann had upset stomachs this day, probably from the change in water. However, we went to church services at Keyes, then back to the Hanes’ for dinner and to rest in the afternoon. Some of us went to church at night others to bed.

This was where Barbara Ann learned about the function of cows. She came in very excited, after watching the cows milked and exclaimed: "Daddy, the cows have milk inside them, and you pinch them to get it out!"
