| Friday, July 11: This was the big day!
In a flurry of confusion and excitement we (J.D., Mary, Mary Ethel, David, Barbara Ann,
Mark and Frances) piled into the car and took off. We traveled the road to Heber Springs
and on up to Eureka Springs to the accompaniment of the Republican convention and the
Dodgers ball-game on the car radio. We arrived in Bartlesville, Oklahoma about 8:30 that
night, too late to find accomodation at a Motel, and Jo and Lucien Bagnette very kindly
opened their home for us. |
